Final Results
Coto de Caza, Calif. – The second day of competition went in favor of the Lions on Tuesday as LMU men's golf completed their second and third rounds under 300. After a darkness-shortened first day, LMU closed out their second round with a 299 and followed with a final round 296 to jump into the top-half of the field.
LMU's team score of 313-299-296—908 was good for eighth in the field of 17.
Two Lions tied for ninth overall with final scores of 222, despite
Justin Egelske's 77-71-74—222 counting as an individual and not for the team score.
Cameron Meeks lowered his score after each round (78-74-70—222), with his final day 70 counting as the lowest of any of the top-10 finishers.
Mason Glinski (83-74-74—231) and
Raymond Navis (78-75-78—231) tied for 46
th each.
Also earning a top-50 finish was
Gavin Cohen with his 78-80-74—232.
Kyle Kinnane rounds out the LMU five with his 79-76-78—233 finish, tied for 55
th.
Cohen led the team with 10 birdies over the week, with Egelske and Meeks adding 10 apiece. Glinski sunk an eagle on Hole 6 in the third round.
Competition will resume for the Lions on Feb. 22-24 from Goodyear, AZ for the Loyola Intercollegiate.
