Final Results
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – LMU men's golf put together their low round of the tournament on Tuesday, shooting a 293 to close out the Golfweek Conference Challenge. The Lions tied for 13
thoverall with a three-day total of
295-301-293—889.
LMU finished the tournament with a 3.16 stroke average on Par 3 holes, the fourth best in the field of 16, and ranked in the top five after totaling 171 pars as a team.
"This week was a wake up call for all of us," said Head Coach
Jason D'Amore. "The guys have been playing well. We are going to take a look at where we struggled and make sure we prepare properly for the Tucker next week."
Raymond Navis led the team with his
72-77-73—222, finishing a stroke ahead of teammate
Gavin Cohen (
74-76-73—223), after each player posted identical final rounds of 73.
Also finishing in the top 50 of the field was
Mason Glinski, after recording a
77-73-75—225.
Cameron Meeks scored for the Lions with his
72-78-76—226, while
Kyle Kinnane recorded the team's low round of the day with a final card of
80-75-72—227.
Competing as an individual,
Matthew Carungay shot a
83-78-81—242.
A selected group of Lions will compete next week in a two-team head-to-head against Cal State Dominguez Hills in Whittier, Calif., on Sept. 23. The next full tournament is slated for Sept. 27-28 in Albuquerque, New Mexico for the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate.
