LOS ANGELES – Emin Torlic has signed a National Letter of Intent to play tennis at Loyola Marymount starting in the fall, announced by head coach
Tom Lloyd on Monday.
"Emin is a talented local player that will bring depth to our squad," said Lloyd. "He brings us a ton of variety with him being left handed and a great athlete."
The Newport Beach, Calif. native went 14-1 in singles play his senior season at Sage Hill High School and won the CIF Division I Team Championships, clinching just the second championship in program history.
Torlic's standout season earned him the team and league MVP title. The incoming freshman was had a junior's ranking as high as No. 142 in 2019 and is No. 41 in the state of California.
"LMU's location gives me the opportunities to reach my goals on and off the court as a student athlete," said Torlic. "I couldn't be any more excited to take the next step on the Bluff."
Torlic will join the rest of the Lion squad starting in the fall.
