LOS ANGELES – The LMU men's tennis team won their second match of the week with a 4-2 victory against Utah on Sunday afternoon at the LMU Tennis Center in Los Angeles.
The scoring started with a hard-fought doubles point.
Alex Padro Parra and
Jacopo Denitto cruised to a 6-1 victory on court three before the Lions dropped court one.
Cesar Cruz and
Arthur Pantino were locked in a tight 3-3 match on court two before clutching up and winning three of the next four sets to clinch the doubles point.
Utah equalized with a win on court one in the beginning of singles play.
Cruz continued to be a star on court three with a quick 6-3, 6-1 win to recapture the lead for the Lions.
The Utes would once again equalize with a win on court five.
Sebastian Nothhaft retook the lead for LMU with a tough victory on court two. He cruised in the first set 6-4 before battling to a 7-5 win in the second set.
Denitto ended the match with a three set finish on court six. After dropping the first set, he cruised over the next two sets, winning 6-2 and 6-3 to capture the match.
The Lions have a few weeks off before returning to action at home against Temple on March 5.
