After 11 seasons as the Head Coach of the LMU baseball program, which culminated in a WCC Tournament Championship and an NCAA Tournament Regional appearance in 2019,
Jason Gill has elected to accept the same position at University of Southern California, becoming USC's seventh Head Coach since 1930.
Â
Under Gill's guidance, LMU has accumulated 64 All-WCC selections, one WCC regular season title, one WCC Tournament title, one NCAA Regional, four Freshmen All-Americans, one Collegiate Baseball All-American, four WCC Defensive Players of the Year, two WCC Pitchers of the Year, four ABCA All-West Region selections, two WCC Freshmen of the Year, 35 Academic All-Conference selections, an Academic All-District selection, 31 players drafted in the MLB Draft and has played for the WCC Championship six times.
Â
"Jason is an outstanding coach and an even better person," said Athletic Director
Craig Pintens. "He had tremendous success at LMU, and elevated our program in every aspect. Jason led with integrity and developed student-athletes both on and off the field. We wish Jason, his wife Kacey and son Shane success in his new endeavor."
Â
A national search will begin immediately for the new Baseball Head Coach at LMU. Any inquiries should be made to sport supervisor and Senior Associate Athletic Director
Dan Smith or Athletic Director
Craig Pintens.
