The Loyola Marymount men's and women's track & field teams took their talents to the campus of UCLA for the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival on Friday. The meet assembles some of the nations elite distance talents and the Lions responded with seven career bests plus an additional five season bests.

On the men's side, head coach
Scott Guerrero boasts a strong all-around class of talent and it was on display at the Distance Carnival. Freshman
Ethan Frisone and sophomore
Joseph Garcia were just a few of the many LMU runners who had a career best day. Frisone's career best time of 14:49.15 in the 5000 meters also put him in rare company on the Lions top-20 list. His time put him 16
thamongst all Lions in the 5000m making him one of three freshmen to appear on the list for that distance. Garcia's career best time of 14:49.75 also placed the sophomore on LMU's top-20 list for the 5000m putting him 17
thmaking him one of four sophomores to make the list. Freshman
Max Smith also posted a career best time at UCLA on Friday, coming in at 15:21.94 in the 5000m.

Adding career bests for the Lions on Friday were seniors
Solomon Demeku-Ousman and
Branden Estrada. The duo posted times in the mile of 4:15.12 and 4:18.22, respectively.

On the women's side, senior
Giselle Masedo had a huge personal best which moved her up to #13 on LMU's all-time list. Her time of 17:10.73 in the 5000m made her the only female runner for this season to appear on the list. Freshman
Grace Catena has been a consistent for the Lions on the track as she posted a career best time of 18:07.11 in the 5000m just adding to the highlights for LMU on the track.

The Lions will have the weekend off before they head to San Diego to run at the UCSD Triton Invitational on Saturday, April 13
