LOS ANGELES – The Loyola Marymount men's tennis team is set for its first fall tournament of the 2019-20 season, as four Lions will head to the 2019 San Diego State University Fall Invite.
Newcomer
Alex Rushin will make his debut as a Lion this weekend, as he will participate in the doubles draw with returner
Lucas Moreno. Returners
Ethan Prost and
Austin Di Giulio will be pairing up together for the doubles draw.
Prost and Di Giulio will be representing the Lions in the singles draw. Last season, Prost went 4-7 in singles play, while Di Giulio went 10-7.
The tournament will start on Friday morning with doubles play, where Moreno and Rushin will take on the doubles tandem from rival Pepperdine, Shelton and Shamlian at 9:00 am, while Prost and Di Giulio will take on doubles pair Andreolli and Franke from Grand Canyon University. The winners of these matchups will go on to the second round, which will start on Saturday at 9:00 AM. The championship round will be on Sunday at 9:00 AM.
Singles play will start on Friday at 10:00 AM. Di Giulio will be taking on San Diego's Borter in the first round, while Prost will be taking on San Diego's Norfeldt at the same time. The winners of these matches will go on to play Friday at 1:30 PM.
Several teams will be participating in the SDSU Fall Invite including, UCLA, UCSD, GCU, UCI, Pepperdine, USD, SDSU and Arizona.
