MLB Gold Glove Finalists
 
Former Loyola Marymount University standout David Fletcher was named a finalist for the 2019 Gold Glove Awards, it was announced by Major League Baseball today.
 
In his first full season with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Fletcher is a finalist at third base alongside Alex Bregman of the Houston Astros and Matt Chapman of the Oakland Athletics.
 
In 2019 he batted .290 to go along with 173 hits, 83 runs, 49 RBI, six home runs and an on base percentage of .350 in his first full season with the Angels. Fletcher was drafted by L.A. in the sixth round with the 195th overall selection in the 2015 draft.
 
While with the Lions Fletcher was named a Second Team Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, WCC Defensive Player of the Year in 2014, WCC All-Freshman selection in 2014 and First Team All-WCC in 2014.
