Meet Information
 
Coming off the Capital Cross Challenge, the Loyola Marymount University men's and women's cross country teams return to the course this weekend as they race in Santa Clara's Bronco Invitational at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale, Calif. There are 52 teams participating in the invitational races on the day.
 
With less than two weeks from the West Coast Conference Championships the meet provides LMU with a chance to come back and beat some of the teams in the WCC that participated in Capital Cross.
 
"This is a great meet to run fast and build confidence going into the postseason. We have a chance to race against some strong WCC teams and see where we stack up with two weeks left to adjust our strategy before we host the WCC Championships," said head coach Scott Guerrero. "We're coming into the point in our season when you really start to see the training pay off, so I expect to walk away with at least a few PRs."
 
Twenty-one of the Lions' cross country student athletes will be competing on Saturday, which begins with the men's 8k invitational at 8:45 a.m.
 
Competing in the men's 8k for LMU are Max Smith, Roc Johnson, Joseph Garcia, Zach Arias, Simeon Paul and Kyle Friedler.
 
The women's 6K invitational will follow at 9:30 a.m. featuring Kyla Danforth, Gabriela Hernandez, Hannah Wohlenberg, Ann Kelly, Dani Rowlinson, Raina Hines, Cynthia Melendez, Avery Doan and Rosie Cruz.
 
Ethan Frisone, Shane Ely, Weston Hart, Cooper McCarthy, Roberto Ruelas and Jacob Villegas will be up next for LMU, running in the men's open 8K at 10:15 a.m.  
 
There is no charge for admission, but parking is $6 per vehicle. Do not park in unmarked spaces or the City will tow your vehicle. Overflow parking is available next to Baylands at the Twin Creeks Softball Complex.
