SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Adam Trafecanty finished third overall and the men's cross-country team finished fourth out of 19 teams in the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invite Gold race.
The Lions put up a very strong showing, anchored by Trafecanty's third-place finish. LMU scored 157 points, three short of third place.
LMU was breaking personal bests all throughout the race. Trafecanty's time of 24:26.6 was his best ever 5-mile time.
Shane Ely and Daniel Vaca also scored personal best times. Ely finished 36th overall and recorded a time of 25:06.9. Vaca finished 45th with a time of 25:19.9.
The Lions next meet is scheduled for October 14 at the Santa Clara Broncos Invite.
