Agustin Moreno recently guided Mexico to a gold medal at the 2018 Central American and Carribean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia. Moreno's doubles pair of Fernanda Contreras and Giuliana Olmos took gold in the doubles finale.
The Mexican duo earned their spot atop the podium on Monday with a third-set 10-point tiebreak victory over Colombia's Mariana Duque and Maria Osorio 6-4, 3-6, 10-4.
Contreras/Olmos reached the final match by way of a 6-3, 7-5 triumph over Monica Matias and Monica Puig of Puerto Rico. Puig, the reigning Olympic Champion, gave Puerto Rico her fifth consecutive singles gold medal at the Games on Monday.
