July 26, 2018 2018 ITA Men's All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes
Based on their academic performance this past year, four LMU men's tennis players have been named 2018 ITA Scholar-Athletes. Graduate student Charles Boyce was joined by Cartier Juan, Max Kaiser and Ethan Prost on the list.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria:
1. be a varsity letter winner
2. have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
3. have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters
Boyce, who earned a spot on the WCC All-Academic team, was an All-WCC honorable mention pick in doubles while teamed with Lukas Moenter, Boyce went a combined 17-9 in doubles, and 12-7 in singles this year. Boyce was 10-5 overall in singles during dual matches, including 5-1 at #4 in the order. He also managed a 15-7 doubles record in dual matches, including 9-5 with Moenter (7-2 at #2 in the order).
Prost played to a 7-6 overall singles record in tournament play last year, and combined to go 6-5 in doubles, including collecting a pair of wins in dual matches.
Juan managed a pair of singles victories and one doubles win while teamed with Prost. Kaiser finished the year 4-3 overall in singles, including posting a victory at #6 singles over San Francisco on April 21.
