May 1, 2017 After going 3-1 last week, including taking a three-game series from WCC preseason favorite San Diego to move to 10-0-1 in weekend series this year, LMU (30-14, 16-5 WCC) has entered the Top-25 according to D1Baseball.

The Top-25 ranking is the first for the Lions since finishing the 2000 season as the #16 team according to Baseball America, #24 according to Collegiate Baseball, and #25 according to the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll.
Including the series win over San Diego, LMU has knocked off then-#19 UCSB, split with Washington State, and defeated Arizona State, Cal Poly, San Francisco, BYU (who is in first place in the WCC and now owns a #22 ranking according to Collegiate Baseball), Pacific, Santa Clara, Saint Mary's, and Pepperdine.
The Lions have now won eight of the last nine, 19 of 23, and 22 of 28, and sit in second place in the WCC with an off week coming due to finals and graduation. After the off week, LMU will return to action on Tuesday, May 9 when it travels to UC Riverside for a 6 p.m. game.
