Junior right-hander Cory Abbott has been named Rawlings WCC Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday. The selection is the second of the year for Abbott, who also claimed the honor on March 27.

Abbott continued his dominance on the mound on Saturday at Saint Mary's, dealing eight shutout innings and allowing just three hits and two walks with 10 strikeouts as LMU recorded a 7-0 shutout victory over the Gaels to earn a series win in West Coast Conference play. Abbott cruised through the eight shutout frames, tossing 106 pitches in the outing and improving to 7-1 with the win.

Abbott has now thrown 37.1 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run, dating back to March 12. He is 5-0 with a 0.00 ERA over five starts and 37 innings against WCC foes.

San Diego's Riley Adams was named Rawlings WCC Player of the Week.

LMU will return to action on Tuesday when it hosts Cal State Northridge at 6 p.m. from Page Stadium.
