SAN BRUNO, Calif. - For the first time in program history, a Loyola Marymount women's tennis pair has been named West Coast Conference Doubles Team of the Week in consecutive weeks. The play of Anna Romeka and Siobhan Anderson in two wins last week earned the duo back-to-back recognition from the conference.
The LMU duo is 6-2 in doubles this season including a perfect 4-0 mark on the No. 2 court this spring. Winners of five straight doubles matchups, Anderson and Romeka earned a pair of 6-4 victories in consecutive days over Yale (Mar. 15) and Texas State (Mar. 16).
The Lions as a team are winners of three straight and six of seven matches overall. LMU does leave its home court this week, in search of their first road win of the season.
Loyola Marymount travels crosstown on Wednesday to face USC (4-7) for a non-conference battle. The Trojans have lost their last four matches.
Conference play begins on Friday and Saturday, as the Lions meet up with Pacific (5-5) and Saint Mary's (5-5), before staying in Northern California for a visit to Sacramento State (6-10, 4-2 Big Sky) on Sunday.
This four-match meek and three consecutive days of play are both season longs for the Lions.
