NORMAN - LMU women's soccer couldn't hold their early one-goal lead as Oklahoma (1-0-1) scored four goals in the final 30 minutes for a 4-1 win at John Crain Field in Norman, Okla., on Sunday afternoon.

Senior Nikki Martino scored just 20 minutes into the game to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. They would hold that lead until the 60:30 mark when Kaylee Dao scored to tie the game.

An own goal would give the Sooners the lead just 11 minutes later. They would then tack on two more in the final 13 minutes.

GAMEDAY STORYLINES

• LMU forced the action early, getting three shots to just two for OU, while gaining the only two corner kicks. The second half was the complete opposite. The Lions were outshot 14-4 in the second half and OU had eight corner kicks while LMU had none.

• The aggressive play by each team in each half showed up in the fouls. LMU forced the action, drawing six fouls on Oklahoma while committing none. As expected, it was the reverse in the second. The Lions were called for nine to just three for the Sooners.

• Goalie Charlee Pruitt had seven saves on the day.

• The lions finished with five shots on goal to OU's 11. Martin had three and Sarina Bolden had a pair.

UP NEXT

The Lions have a week off before playing their home opener at Sullivan Field on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 1 pm against CSU Bakersfield.
