Playing at the US Open Northern California Sectional Qualifier, LMU's Jessica Perez reached the semifinal round, ultimately falling to the top seed in the tournament, Jada Hart.

Perez, playing as the #8 seed in the tournament, defeated Ashley Vielma, 6-1, 6-1, in her first match, advancing to meet Elena Van Linge in the quarterfinal round. There, she dispatched her opponent, 6-7 (4), 6-2, 6-2, in a hard-fought match to reach the seminfinal round.

Pitted against top-seeded Hart, Perez dropped the match, 6-1, 6-4.

Perez played all of her matches at #1 singles for LMU last year, compiling an 8-12 record in dual matches.
