LOS ANGELES - The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches release the 2016 Women's All-Academic Awards on Tuesday (June 21), and 13 student-athletes for LMU earned honors.
The ACWPC awards All-Academic Awards based on three categories - Outstanding (4.0 GPA to 3.71), Superior (3.70-3.41) and Excellent (3.40-3.20). To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete's head coach must be a member of the ACWPC, while the athlete must attain a grade point average in excess of 3.20. A total of 504 athletes were named to the team with the ACWPC awarding 131 Outstanding, 198 Superior and 175 Excellent accolades.
Earning Outstanding honors is freshman Andrea Montes de Oca. Claiming Superior honors for the Lions are redshirt freshman Marissa Bryant-Manago, redshirt freshman Lauren Owens, sophomore Sage Pfeiffer, sophomore Jacqueline Verdugo and freshman Hana Vilanova. Earning Excellent honors are senior Erin Byrne, junior Kiana Etrata, sophomore Kiana Harpstrite, freshman Katie Hungerford, junior Eleanor Lee, senior Ashtynn Nelson, and sophomore Arianna St. Oegger.
