After guiding his 2015 team to the program's second-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament Sweet-Sixteen last fall, LMU volleyball head coach Tom Black has added to his 2016 signing class with the addition of All-American setter, Tess Reid. Reid prepped at Olathe Northwest High School in Kansas.

Reid, a 2015 Under Armour honorable mention selection and a three-time All-State honoree, captained three consecutive Kansas State High School Final Four teams as well as two Top-10 JNO club teams. The 2015 Kansas Class 6A and Sunflower League Player of the Year finished her high school career as the school record-holder in six categories, and was named the school's 2015 Champion of Character recipient. Honored three times with first team All-Sunflower League selections, Reid was a 2015 Evelyn Gates Foundation Finalist and an Andi Collins Finalist â€" tabbing her as one of the best setters in the nation. The 2015 USAV Junior Nationals Open All-Tournament selection guided her teams to a 142-31 combined record over four years, and finished her high school career with over 3,000 assists, 230 aces, 830 digs and a .312 hitting percentage. Off the court, Reid was also a member of the National Honor Society.

"Tess is a high level setter that comes to us with a maturity, work ethic and passion for learning we highly admire," Black said when Reid signed. "While she has earned many accolades throughout her career, one of the things we appreciate most about Tess is how little she cares about all that. For her, it's all about getting better today and doing everything she can to improve her chances to win the next play. She has been well coached by her club and high school coaches, and we absolutely cannot wait for her to begin her college career here. She, along with the rest of the incoming 2016 class, are driven to help push LMU Volleyball into the best possible version of ourselves. She's an incredible fit."
