The LMU men's tennis team (3-4) got off to a great start on a spring break tour through Arizona, defeating Northern Arizona (4-7) by a score of 5-2 on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lions took the doubles point by way of victories on courts two and three, with Cristobal Rivera and Charles Boyce teaming to post a win over Fisher/Taylor on court two, 6-1. The duo of Luke Bohuslav and Lukas Moenter also recorded a win, defeating Schumann/Lee, 6-3, on the third court to extend their win streak to three matches.

LMU's success continued into singles play, as the Lions won the first four decisions to claim the match victory. Joat Farah was first to finish for LMU, posting a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Ruben Montano on court four. Farah is now 6-1 in dual play, including posting victories in four straight matches.

Bohuslav added LMU's third point of the afternoon with a 6-3, 6-4 straight-set win over Jackson Lee on court five. Rivera clinched the Lion victory with a hard-fought 7-5, 6-4 win over Felix Schumann on court three.

Now playing to just finish the match, Moenter topped Thomas Fisher in a three-set match, 3-6, 6-1, 6-3, on court six. Closing out the competition, Boyce dropped a three-set match, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 to Tim Handel on court one, while Errol Smith suffered a 6-4, 6-3 (13-11) setback on court two.

The Lions will continue matches in Arizona on Thursday when they visit Arizona at 1 p.m. LMU will then play Fresno State at Arizona on Friday at 1 p.m.
