LOS ANGELES - The 2016-17 college basketball season is set to begin, and things get underway at LMU with Tipoff Week 2016. It will be a memorable season with 36 total home games combined between men's and women's basketball, and it all gets started this Friday with a special Military Appreciation Night for the season opener. There will be plenty happening on for the 2016-17 season opener. It is Veterans Day and the Lions will honor all military personnel throughout the evening, including the offer for FREE TICKETS to all military personnel, both active and retired. The Lions will also honor the LMU Air Force ROTC and the Jonn Scott Flath Memorial Scholarship.
It all begins at 6 pm with a special Pregame Celebration for LMU Cage Members in the atrium outside Gersten Pavilion. Not a member? It's easy. #W2W4: Nov. 13 - Women's Basketball vs. Saint Louis
Tip-off Week continues on Sunday, Nov. 13 with women's basketball playing their home opener against Saint Louis. Game time is set for 2 pm. The game is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day with special raffles for goodie bags and other fun prizes. The funds will go to Pancreatic Cancer research.
The game will also be part of the Iggy Birthday Bash for Little Lions Club members, with a special area just for kids - the Little Lions Den - complete with games, cupcakes, a bounce house and more. It is also Summer Camper Reunion Day! All LMU Summer Campers get into the game FREE! Remember, WEAR YOUR CAMPER T-SHIRT to get into the game.

Tip-off Week will conclude with the Lions taking on UCONN on Nov. 17.

The week isn't just about basketball. The busy second weekend of November will also feature a pair of women's volleyball showdowns in the West Coast Conference. The Lions continue their push to the NCAA Tournament when they host San Francisco on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 7 pm and then Santa Clara on Saturday at 12 noon. BOTH GAMES ARE FREE, so come out and cheer on the Lions.
In addition, LMU men's soccer will play their final game of the regular season when they host San Francisco Saturday night under the lights of Sullivan Field. Game time is set for 7 pm. Come cheer on the Lions and honor the four seniors playing in their final home game.
