The LMU swim team will continue early season competition this weekend as the Lions travel to Pepperdine and Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool to participate in the annual Malibu Invitational. The two-day competition will feature diving and distance events on Friday before the middle distance and sprint events take center stage on Saturday.
The invite will feature 10 teams including the Lions. Joining LMU in Malibu will be host Pepperdine, CSU Bakersfield, Azusa Pacific, California Baptist, Concordia, Occidental, Oklahoma Baptist, Soka and Biola.
This weekend's meet will be streamed live via WaveCasts on CampusInsiders.com. Available updates and more will be posted on Twitter at @WavesSwimDive.
Last year, five different Lions won an individual event in a very competitive field, including current seniors Hannah Calton (200 butterfly), Kailee Mora (50 butterfly) and Stacy Maier (500 freestyle), and sophomore Keara Reilly (1650 freestyle).
After participating in the Malibu Invitational, LMU will return home to host UC Davis in the first head-to-head meet of the year on October 21 at 2 p.m. from the Burns Aquatics Center.
