LOS ANGELES - In the opening event of the 2024 PCSC Championships on Wednesday evening, seven Lions achieved lifetime best times in the 1000 freestyle to amass 71 points, second only to Azusa Pacific's total of 111.
Natalie Hogenboom lead all Lions with a seventh place finish in 10:31.25 shaving six seconds off her 'PB' and moving her into LMU's All-Time Top Ten ranking as number seven. Coming in just behind Hogenboom, were

Bella Flaminio in 12th (10:46.77),
Mackenzie Kawashiri in 17
th (10:49.62), Gracie O'Connell in 20
th (10:53.26) and
Mati Dixon in 22
nd (10:54.30)
In the 200 Medley Relay, LMU's quartet of
Maddie Nguyen,
Abby Shaw,
Adele Kopis and
Lia Murray finished in seventh of 14 teams and in the 800 Freestyle Relay, with Hogenboom, Flaminio,
Lydia Hawthorne and Kawashiri, the relay finished eighth. After the diving, which LMU does not contest, and relay points for the 200 Medley and 800 Freestyle relays were added to the team tally, LMU ended the evening in fifth with 160 points, two points behind Cal State East Bay and three points behind UC Santa Cruz.
Competition continues Thursday with the 500 Freestyle, 200 Individual Medley and 50 Freestyle being contested along with the 200 freestyle.
