LOS ANGELES -Play within the Golden Coast Conference heats up in the final two weeks of the women's water polo regular season, and for 17th-ranked LMU it means a trip to Riverside to face California Baptist.
Coming off a bye week around the Easter Break, the Lions head to California Baptist on Saturday, April 11 for a 12 noon start. The Lions enter the week tied with Pacific for second in the GCC standings at 2-1. They are 17-10 overall. The Lancers are 0-2 within the GCC, sitting at 17-11 on the season.
The Lancers are led by the GCC's leading scorer, Hannah Evans, who has 101 goals on the season. LMU's senior Laura Lopez is second in the conference with 50 goals. Junior Ivana Castro is fifth with 44 and Mackenzie Beck is seventh with 41.
The teams have yet to play this season and the Lions won in the GCC match-up a year ago, 15-7.
The Lions will finish the season in the Bay Area, facing Santa Clara on Friday, April 17 at 3:30 pm, and then on Saturday, April 18 taking on Pacific at 12 noon.
