With less than two weeks left before the start of the 2015 season, the LMU baseball team, led by seventh-year head coach Jason Gill, is favored to win the West Coast Conference Championship according to Perfect Game.
A leader in college baseball coverage, Perfect Game has the Lions ahead of Gonzaga, Pepperdine, Pacific and San Diego, in that order as the top-five teams in the WCC. Perfect Game also listed its Preseason All-Conference Team, with David Fletcher, Austin Miller, Colin Welmon and Trevor Megill earning nods. Fletcher, the reigning WCC Defensive Player of the Year and a Freshman All-American in 2014, was tabbed as the Preseason Player of the Year, while Welmon is picked to win Pitcher of the Year.
