SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Emily Ben-Jumbo, Alyson Lock and Olivia Lucero were all named to the 2014-15 West Coast Conference Women's Basketball All-Academic Teams, the league office announced Friday.
Ben-Jumbo, a senior forward, was named to the first team, the first such honor for the communications major who carries a 3.33 cumulative GPA. She is the lone Lion to start every game this season, averaging 10.9 ppg and 5.6 rpg.
Lock and Lucero each earn Honorable Mention honors for the first time in their careers. Lock, a sophomore, is an accounting major who carries a 3.93 GPA. She has appeared in 22 games this season and leads the team with 60 assists. Lucero, also a sophomore, is a health and human sciences major with a 3.31 GPA. She has earned five starts and appeared in 21 total games, averaging 3.7 ppg and 2.1 rpg.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.
