LION'S LAST LINE
Behind a season-best performance from senior Deanna Johnson, the Lions earned their first road win of the season, a 70-63 final over UC Santa Barbara. Johnson, who has been progressively working her way back to form after missing most of last season with a knee injury, poured in a season-high 17 points, including 12 in the second half. Freshman Cheyenne Wallace had 14 points and eight boards and Leslie Lopez-Wood added 12 points to round out Lions in double-figures. As has become habit for the Lions, the third quarter was key. However, as has not been habit, the Lions also came out of the gates with energy. Despite shooting just 28 percent in the first half, the Lions were relentless with 12 offensive boards and an 11-for-14 performance from the free throw line to trail just 35-32 at the half. Then came the third quarter. LMU outscored the Gauchos 21-10 in the 10-minute period, gaining command, 53-45. The fourth quarter was a battle as UCSB attempted to claim the lead back, but the Lions would never let them closer than two points, closing things out down the stretch.

ABOUT THE MISSOURI TIGERS (8-0)
Missouri is 8-0 to start the season for the first times since the 1982-83 season. The Tigers were the preseason pick to finish sixth in the SEC. Junior forward Jordan Frericks was voted a Preseason All-SEC second team selection. To date, Frericks is averaging 12.8 ppg and 8.4 rpg. She also has 10 blocks and 11 steals. Sophie Cunningham leads Mizzou with 15.1 ppg, 5.6 rpg and 3.6 apg. The Tigers shoot nearly 46 percent from the field and 32 percent from three. They have held a +13.4 rebounding margin over their eight opponents.

ROAD WIN
Road wins have been hard to come by during Head Coach Charity Elliott's three-plus seasons at the helm of the Lion program. Friday's 70-63 victory at UC Santa Barbara marked just the seventh true road win (excluding neutral site victories) in 45 games. Coming just eight games into the season and the fourth road test of the year, the victory in the Gauchos Thunderdome also marked the earliest in a season that the Lions have picked up that first road W. In 2013-14, the Lions' first road win was 16 games into the season and the eighth road contest of that year.

PUTTING UP POINTS
LMU's 95-point effort in its Nov. 28 win over UC Irvine ties for the fourth most points in school history. The all-time record is 130 points, scored in a 130-52 win over The Master's College on Nov. 23, 1990. The highest output during Head Coach Charity Elliott's three-plus year tenure is 98, set in a 98-81 victory over Utah State on Nov. 17, 2012. During Elliott's time, the Lions have hit the 90-point mark six times. Since the program's inception in 1981-82, the Lions have scored 90 points or more 22 times.

RECORD WATCH
During her first two seasons, junior Leslie Lopez-Wood twice set the LMU record for single-season threes, pouring in 70 as a freshman and 82 as a sophomore. With seven threes thus far this year, she brings her career total to 159, good for second place in LMU's career record book. She now trails all-time record holder Renayh Young (170 3s, 2007-10) by just 11

ROOKIE REOCRDS
Cheyanne Wallace posted a career-high 23 points in LMU's 95-50 win over UC Irvine on Nov. 28. The output marked the freshman's second game with 20-plus points this season. It also marks the highest scoring output by a freshman since Hazel Ramirez poured in 22 points versus Stephen F. Austin on Nov. 26, 2010. The all-time freshman single-game record is 33 points, set by Bryn Britton at Santa Clara on Jan. 16, 1999. While just eight games in, Wallace is averaging 13.0 ppg, just shy of the LMU freshman single-season high of 13.4 ppg, set by all-time leading scorer Alex Cowling in 2008-09.
