Oct. 21, 2015 LOS ANGELES -LMU men's water polo returns home from a single game road trip to host a pair of contests at the Burns Aquatics Center this week, starting with Concordia on Thursday and then rival UC San Diego in a Western Water Polo Association battle on Saturday.
LMU enters the week with three straight wins, including a big road win in conference action against Air Force.
Vuk Cvetkovic had five goals and two steals to lead the Lions to a 13-10 win over the Falcons on Oct. 16. The senior two-meter players has been named the KAP7 WWPA Player of the Week for Oct. 21. In the game junior
Kirk Wilenius had 10 saves and scored a goal. Cvetkovic leads the Lions with eight goals in the two WWPA games and is tied for second with 30 points, 17 goals and 13 assists.
LMU (6-10, 1-1) will open this week's play against Concordia, who the Lions defeated 10-4 two weeks ago in the SoCal Invitational. Game time is set for 3 pm against the Eagles are 4-12 on the season.
On Saturday, the Lions will host the rematch with 15th-ranked UC San Diego at 12 noon. The Lions won in late September in the fourth overtime, 13-12. Cvetkovic scored the game winner in that one. The Tritons enter the week at 9-10 overall and 2-0 in the WWPA. They host Air Force in a WWPA contest on Thursday.
