Men's Water Polo

Four Lions Recognized On All-WCC Teams, Including WCC Newcomer of the Year

WCC Announcement

LOS ANGELES – The 2025 West Coast Conference Men's Water Polo Awards have been announced. LMU received two first team All-WCC members, two honorable mention All-WCC members, and the WCC Newcomer of the Year in Alika Naone. The Lions are the only school with two members of the All-WCC First Team.

Naone joined the Lions this season in his final season of competition. He becomes LMU's first major award winner since the WCC began sponsoring Men's Water Polo ahead of the 2023 season. He also earned Honorable Mention All-WCC honors after finishing with 51 goals, 29 assists, 80 points, 14 steals, and his 20 sprint wins were fifth-most in the conference.

A First Team All-WCC performer in 2023, Tommaso Baldineti returns to the conference's top team in 2025 after coming back from his injury that caused him to miss most of the 2024 campaign. This season, Baldineti ranked sixth in the WCC in goals with 65, second in assists with 57, fourth in points with 122, and tied for fourth in steals with 30.

Abel Romero Corbalan moved up from the 2024 All-WCC Second Team to the 2025 All-WCC First Team after his play this season. Romero Corbalan ranked seventh in the conference in goals with 59 and ranked second on the Lions with 83 assists and 18 steals.

Bence Barics earns his first conference postseason award with his inclusion on the All-WCC Honorable Mention Team. The sophomore scored 19 goals with six assists for 25 points and led LMU with 39 drawn exclusions from the center position.

The Lions will now travel to the West Coast Conference Men's Water Polo Tournament hosted by the United States Air Force Academy.

Information on how to access the base can be found here. Parking will be free and is found in the East Lot, either in front of the Falcon Athletic Center/Cadet Fieldhouse or to the east side of the Field House. Entrance to the Cadet Gymnasium, where the Cadet Natatorium can be found, is by the outdoor tennis courts located to the west of the Falcon Athletic Center. You can also purchase tickets today here.

Note: You will just need to apply for base access once for the whole tournament. You will need to show your approval message when you arrive at the base gates. Due to an Air Force football game on Saturday, the base gates might be slower to get through compared to normal so please plan accordingly.
