LOS ANGELES -- As LMU prepares to open play at the WCC Championships at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif. tomorrow morning, the team's top singles player racked in a few individual accomplishments today.

Tuesday morning, the conference released the 2012-2013 WCC Women's Tennis All-Academic Team. Bisharat got her undergraduate degree last spring and is set to earn a graduate degree in educational studies next month. She currently holds a 3.82 GPA in the graduate program. This, along with her stellar play on the court, earned her a spot on the All-Academic Team.

Later in the afternoon, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released the new weekly rankings. The ITA has listed Bisharat at No. 100 for singles play. Bisharat has played all of her singles matches at Court 1 this season, playing some of the nation's best competition. Earlier in the season, she defeated Katie Le of Santa Clara, who was ranked No. 28 at the time. Most recently, Bisharat defeated Pepperdine's Lorraine Guillermo, then ranked No. 32.

Bisharat is 8-10 in singles play this season and is the first LMU women's tennis player in the national singles rankings since Pavla Mesterova, who graduated in 2008.

Bisharat entered the season ranked No. 19 in the ITA's regional rankings for singles in the Southwest division. Last season, she was named All-WCC Second Team for singles as well as earning honorable mention for doubles play with teammate Claudia Razzeto.
