LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU swimming team dropped its final tune-up before the MPSF Championships, 156-91, at UNLV's Buchanan Natatorium on Saturday. UNLV proved extremely tough on Saturday, winning the first seven events of the day before beginning to exhibition swimmers from that point forward.
Two double-event winners paced the way for the Rebels, Jessica Heim in the 200 free (1:54.05) and the 500 free (5:11.46), and Carmen Robb in the 100 back (55.13) and 100 fly (56.04). Winning single events were Shawnee Landolt in the 1000 free (10:40.76), Marley Prothero in the 100 breast (1:05.11), Emma Gustafsson in the 200 fly (2:09.23), and Rachel Dixon in the 50 free (23.26).
The Lions will return to action on February 15 when they open competition at the 2012 MPSF Championships. The four-day competition will be held in Long Beach, Calif.
