LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Freshman Kjirsten Magnuson took home her first career MPSF Swimmer of the Week selection, and the second for the Lions this year, for her efforts against UC San Diego last weekend. Tammy Choy earned the first MPSF Swimmer of the Week for the Lions on October 12 to start the year.

Magnuson entered the water four times in the home dual vs. UC San Diego, finishing in first place in each event. She swam on LMU's winning 200 Medley "A" relay (1:47.59/25.77 leg), before swimming the lead leg on the victorious 400 Free "A" relay (3:33.42). Magnuson also competed as an individual in the 50 and 100 freestyle events, guiding LMU to a 1-2 finish in the 50 (23.98), before claiming top honors in the 100 (53.05).

Also Nominated: Rachel McCall (CSUB); Kayleigh Foley (UCD); Tatum Boehnke (UNC); Dekel Shahaf (PAC).

LMU and Magnuson will return to action on Friday at 1 p.m. when it swims against San Diego, Fresno State and Pepperdine at the Beach Cup.
