LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU women's tennis team bounced back today with a win on the road over University of Hawaii Pacific. After dropping their first conference match up of the season to Santa Clara, the Lions rallied back to defeat University of Hawaii Pacific. After securing the doubles point, the Lions held strong in singles to win the match 4-3 overall in their first match over spring break in Hawaii.
In doubles play the Lions secured the doubles point on the day with wins on courts two and three. Elisaveta Pironkova and Reka Rohonyi continued their strong play in doubles winning 8-1 while Melissa Valenzuela and Shauna Morgan also earned a win for the books on court three 8-2. While the Lions dropped the match on court one, with wins on court two and three, they were able to take the early lead over Hawaii Pacific.
In singles the Lions held strong to win the match on three courts to make the score 4-3 overall. Junior Ashley Anderson secured her second singles win of the season on court six 6-2, 6-2, while Reka Rohonyi got her third straight win 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. Finally the match came down to Melissa Valenzuela who won 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 to give the Lions the overall win.
