AUSTIN, Texas - LMU managed to return a pair of swimmers to the evening finals on the final day of the competitive Texas Invitational on Saturday. Noelani Vargas reached the finals in the 200 backstroke, posting a qualifying time of 2:05.10 before stopping the clock at 2:04.71 in the D Final. Jill Dahle also made it back to a final on Saturday, finishing 31st in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:07.56.
For Vargas, the 200 backstroke mark bettered her previous career-best of 2:06.51. She now ranks fifth in LMU program history. Dahle's 2:07.56 bettered her previous mark in the event, and moved her into fourth on the LMU All-Time list. Christina Cannata also entered the Top-10 in the 200 butterfly, stopping the clock at 2:10.21 to claim ninth in the books. Katie Rick managed a personal-best, swimming a 2:26.52 in the 200 breaststroke, to place eighth in LMU's program history.
LMU will return to action in the New Year, hosting UC San Diego at Burns Aquatics Center on January 14 at 12 p.m.
