Plenty of Fun For the Holidays

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Thanksgiving week is upon us, kicking off the holiday season. And at LMU, with the holidays comes lots of basketball and lots to do if you're a college basketball fan.

This week will kickoff a full slate of basketball over the holiday season, highlighted by the Holiday Fan Appreciate Game on Dec. 27, which is free to all. The LMU men's basketball game against Vanguard starts at 6 p.m., and will be free. Come checkout the Lions in action, and thanks to Sodexo, the game will feature $1 hotdogs for the entire game.

But it all starts this Thanksgiving week.

Women's basketball will host its annual Doubletree Los Angeles Westside Thanksgiving Classic on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25-26 at Gersten Pavilion. The action features Youngstown State, Northern Iowa and Wyoming. On Friday, the Lions will open with Youngstown State at 1 p.m., followed by Northern Iowa and Wyoming at 3. The consolation and championship game will be Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m.

On Saturday, the women's finals are a part of tripleheader of basketball at LMU. Men's basketball returns home to face Northern Arizona that night at 7:30 p.m. Please see the special note below for the games on Nov. 26.

Then that Tuesday, Nov. 29, the Lions will continue their two-game homestand with Saint Louis at 7 p.m. That game will be a Jesuit Spotlight game and the Lions will honor its Jesuit tradition as it celebrates its Centennial.

Coming around the corner will be men's basketball and the Doubletree Los Angeles Westside Centennial Classic featuring North Texas, La Sierra and Columbia. The six-game tournament runs from Dec. 2-4 at Gersten Pavilion. The action-packed weekend features the Lions' Centennial Game on Dec. 2 against Columbia.

SPECIAL NOTICE: On Saturday November 26, the main entrance to LMU off Lincoln Blvd., will be CLOSED. Major maintenance will be taking place on the roof of University Hall, and beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Nov. 26, University Hall along with the Lincoln Blvd gate, LMU Drive, and LeVecke Bridge will be closed and staffed by Department of Public Safety at this time.

All vehicles and pedestrians must enter the campus via Loyola Blvd gate which will be staffed by DPS during the operation. Fans coming to LMU for the tripleheader on Nov. 26 are asked to use the entrance off Loyola Blvd. For a map, CLICK HERE.

It is expected that University Hall, Lincoln Blvd gate, LMU Drive, and LeVecke Bridge will reopen around 4 p.m.. Activity on LMU Drive will continue and may cause some traffic delays.

Please note that during the operation, there will be absolutely NO ACCESS to any of these areas. This is to ensure your safety, please plan accordingly, there will be NO EXCEPTIONS.
