2011 WCC All-Academic Team 
SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Lions' Tara Erdmann and Weston Strum were both named to the WCC All-Academic team, selected for their performances in the classroom and in cross country.
The honor is the second consecutive WCC All-Academic honor in Erdmann's illustrious career. The red-shirt senior is a graduate student studying education with has a 4.00 grade point average, the highest GPA of any student-athlete on the All-Academic first team. Erdmann was also named to the All-WCC team after her record breaking third individual conference title this past Saturday. In addition to her WCC championship, Erdmann won the UC Riverside Invitational, and placed 3rd at the NCAA Pre-Nationals and the Stanford Invitational.
Strum was named to the All-Academic team during his first season of eligibility for the award. The sophomore accounting major has a 3.72 grade point average and is one of only three sophomores on the first. Strum's season includes a third place finish at the UC Riverside Invitational open race, and a 22nd place finish at the WCC Championships.
Six other student-athletes who received honorable mentions to the All-Academic team represented LMU. For the men's team, senior Oran Arms, sophomore Drew Dalton, and junior Greg Innes received honorable mentions. LMU's women were also represented by sophomore Alyssa Bellia, senior Brieanna Delaney and sophomore Michelle Hickerson.
To be eligible for the WCC All-Academic team, a student-athlete must own a 3.20 cumulative GPA based on the most recently completed term, and cannot be a true freshman, red-shirt freshman or ineligible athletic transfer.
