LOS ANGELES, Calif. - As the 2011-12 year begins, we here at LMULions.com would like to introduce you to some of the new baseball players who are entering their first season with the Lions. We have asked all the newcomers a series of questions that range from why they chose LMU to what we would find in their refrigerator at this very moment. This week's question and answer session will feature freshman outfielder Mitchell Esser.
LMULions.com: What did you do this summer?
Mitchell Esser: Played baseball spent time with friends before leaving for school.
LMU: Why did you choose LMU?
ME: I wanted to experience college away from home, liked the coaching staff and good education, and it was a similar lifestyle to my home town of San Diego.
LMU: Do you have a nickname? Explain the meaning behind it.
ME: I don't have a nickname.
LMU: What is your greatest highlight on the field?
ME: In the CIF championship game, I made a diving play, and then in my next at bat I hit a ground rule double.
LMU: After LMU, what do you want to do?
ME: Get a job, and possibly start a family.
LMU: What is your most embarrassing moment on the field?
ME: I dropped a ball that was hit straight at me.
LMU: Who is the funniest guy on the team?
ME: Nick Devian.
LMU: Do you have any superstitions?
ME: Don't mess with a streak.
LMU: Do you have any hidden talents?
ME: I can gleak on command.
LMU: What is your favorite place around LMU?
ME: The dorms.
LMU: What is your favorite baseball team?
ME: SAN DIEGO PADRES!
LMU: What is the early favorite for your walk-up song?
ME: Work by Gangstarr.
LMU: What is your favorite movie?
ME: Summer Catch

LMU: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
ME: I would like to fly.

ME: Hidden Valley ranch dressing.
LMU: What is your motto or advice you live by?
ME: Never give up.

ME: Autograph collection.

ME: My mother and father.
