LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU swimming team will make the short trip to Pepperdine University for the Malibu Invitational this weekend. The distance events, as well as diving events, are slated to be contested on Friday before the sprint and mid-distance events are decided on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. Friday's events get underway at 12 p.m. from Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool.
Participating schools include Pepperdine, Chapman, Cal Lutheran, Azusa Pacific, Biola, and SOKA.
The Lions last hit the water on October 7-8, claiming first place at both the PCSC Relays and PCSC Pentathlon in Fresno, Calif. The Lions topped eight other squads in the relays, posting 118 points to beat second-place finisher Cal Baptist at 91. LMU went on to an even better performance in the Pentathlon, finishing with 763.5 points compared to second-place Fresno Pacific at 440. The weekend was highlighted by senior Tammy Choy's second consecutive victory in the long medley pentathlon, which led to her selection as MPSF Swimmer of the Week.
