LOS ANGELES, Calif. - LMU Track team took a partial squad down to UCSD this weekend to compete in the Triton Invitational. On the women's side Cynthia Chaidez, Jordan Gash and Tiffany Yee turned in season PRs while on the men's side Mike Herrera tied his personal best and Michael Carlone improved by over ten seconds.

On the women's side, Cynthia Chaidez turned in a season best for the 3000meter race with a 6th place overall finish in 10:36. Both Brooke Lademan and Marissa Diehl competed in the 1500meter race coming in 20th and 25th overall in 5:07 and 5:14 respectively. In the shorter distances, Jordan Gash ran a 13.61 for the 100meter dash for a personal best this season. Chelsea Wirschem placed 8th overall in the triple jump with a jump of 10.53m while teammate Tiffany Yee turned in a top 20 finish placing 15th overall with a 4.93 in the long jump.

Michael Carlone and Mike Herrera competed in the men's 1500meter race coming in 21st and 28th overall. Carlone improved his time by over ten seconds since the beginning of the season running a 4:13.6 while junior Mike Herrera tied his season best at 4:17.5. Junior Matt Duncan also tied his season best of 57.76 for the 400meter hurdles. In the jumps Keyon Mitchell placed in the top five for the triple jump with a 13.9m jump while Julius Jones turned in a 5.31m jump in the Long Jump.

The Lions will be racing again at the Steve Scott Invitational in Irvine CA and the exclusive Payton Jordan Invitational hosted by Stanford University in the first week of May.
