Results

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Lion's number one doubles team junior Ivan Lopez and Otto Sauer are gaining momentum earning another doubles win over Azusa Pacific's Bolsius/Weber while Lopez proved he was red hot with a third straight singles win. While the Lions were unable to clinch the overall win against #5 Azusa Pacific, Lopez once again led the Lions with a singles and doubles win.

In singles play, Lopez clinched a win for the Lions over Matthijs Bolsius of Azusa Pacific 7-5, 6-1. With this win, Lopez has three straight wins in three matches against USF, USD and Azusa Pacific. This record not only set him as one of the best players in the conference but also as one to watch on the west coast. Aris Andreasian also earned the Lion's a singles point defeating Danny Colten of Azusa Pacific 7-5, 5-7, 10-8. In other singles competition, Geza Bazula pushed Hefnagels to three sets, 5-7, 6-1, 6-4.

In doubles play Lopez and Sauer shut out Bolsius/Weber 8-0 to earn their second straight doubles win. The duo have defeated some of the top doubles teams in Southern California with two straight wins this weekend defeating top doubles team at USD and Azusa Pacific. In other doubles play, the Lions were unable to stop Azusa, Malet/Maggi were defeated 8-6 and Von Der Ahe/Zapala 8-4.

Next up for the Lions, they will be looking for their first team win of the season when they play Hawaii Pacific at the LMU Tennis Center at 1:30 PM.
