LOS ANGELES, Calif. -
Arena Invitational Psych Sheet
The LMU swimming team will once again hit competitive waters this week when it travels to Long Beach, Calif. for the Arena Invitational from Thursday through Saturday. LMU took last week off from competition, but trained hard for the upcoming invite.
Many of the top swimming programs not only on the west coast, but in the nation, will be in attendance in Long Beach. Pac-10 powers Cal, Stanford, UCLA, Arizona State and Oregon State will all compete, along with all but two MPSF conference teams (Seattle and Northern Colorado).
The Lions last hit competitive water on Sunday, November 7 when they split a pair of dual meets, defeating Seattle for the second time in as many days, 138-122, while also falling to UC Davis, 163-94. The double-dual meet was LMU's third straight day of competition after swimming at Cal Poly on Friday and Pacific on Saturday.
"The Arena Invitational will be a very fast meet with many NCAA cuts being met by some of the top-ranked swimmers in the country who will be slightly 'rested' for the competition," said head coach Bonnie Adair. "We as a team are shooting for season-best times and learning how we stack up against other MPSF rivals in both individual events and relays."
