LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU swim team will complete the dual meet season on Saturday when it travels to Cal State Northridge for a meet starting at 11 a.m. The dual with the Matadors is the final tune-up before LMU travels to Long Beach, Calif. for the 2010 Pacific Collegiate Swimming Conference Championships from February 10-13.

The Lions last competed on Saturday, as they hosted San Diego and Fresno State in a meet structured after the Division I Conference Championship format. The Lions finished second of three teams in a very close meet that came down to the final race. The Toreros won the meet with 279 points, followed by LMU at 275 and Fresno State at 270. LMU was the only team to not field a diving squad, thus surrendering valuable points. Seniors Trinity O'Neill and Anne Scott shined on senior day, as each won two individual races. Scott also swam anchor legs in LMU's winning 200 and 400 freestyle relay squads.

Cal State Northridge last competed on January 16 when they swam against Pepperdine in a dual meet. The Matador women started the day with a win in the 200 medley relay, but were unable to defeat the Waves, finishing with a score of 156-108. The medley relay, comprised of Yulia Gavrilova, Kimberley Rashleigh, Olesya Senicheva, and Bethany Scamara finished in 1:50.35, taking the top spot. Freshman Rashleigh dominated the field in the 200 freestyle, winning in 1:55.92, then showed her versatility by winning the 200 breaststroke in 2:23.79, as well as the 200 individual medley in 2:11.04. Senicheva had another successful day at the pool, with a large margin of victory coming in both the 100 and 200 butterfly.
