Los Angeles, CA - With the game's first 11 goals and 13 first scores, sixth-ranked Loyola Marymount University coasted to a 17-2 win over UC Santa Cruz in a Western Water Polo Association contest at the Burns Recreation and Aquatics Center on Thursday afternoon.
It was the Lions' third straight win as they improve to 8-5 on the season. UC Santa Cruz falls to 1-6.
Ten different players scored for LMU with seven of them scoring twice. Tibor Forai, Tim Hummel, Tim Heafner, Edgaras Asajavicius, Michail Lapida, Max Schlegel and Derek Milligan all had multiple goal games.
The Lions led 7-0 after the first and took an 11-0 lead after Derek Milligan with 5:58 to play. They led 13-1 at the break and stretched the lead to 17-1 before UC Santa Cruz scored in the final seconds.
LMU continues their homestand when they host Harvard on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
