Recap
#1 USC
Head Coach Jovan Vavic
On Saturday's Semifinal against Navy: "I was actually surprised that we were able to have such a strong start. I was surprised we scored seven unanswered goals. I think our team did a very good job of playing defense in the first quarter and shutting them down and then creating some counter-attack opportunities and scoring some goals. I think we started the game well and that demoralized Navy a little bit. We were able to play everyone from our bench, so that made it also especially fun for us."
Senior Driver Thomas Hale
On tomorrow's title match: "We're excited. We're going to try to keep a level head and try to get the rest of the guys fired up. Some of the younger guys that we need to contribute tomorrow, we're going to try to get them prepared. As seniors, we've been here three times before, and each time, you get a little more comfortable with the atmosphere. So we're trying to help them out as much as possible. Being leaders on the team, we're just going to make sure everyone is ready to go. It's our last game."
Senior Driver Juan Delgadillo
On tomorrow's title match: "I don't know about Thomas [Hale], but I still get nervous for big games. I still get butterflies. No matter who we play tomorrow, we just have to play that game. But I still get butterflies before a big game and today was a big game for us. We came out after a loss, with a bitter taste in our mouth, so we came out strong. We did what we had to do, and hopefully we can do the same tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be my last game as a senior, and I am going to give it everything I have. I am sure Thomas and all the rest of the other guys are going to do the same. It's just about playing for each other at this point."
#4 Navy
Head Coach Mike Schofield
On Saturday's Semifinal against USC: "I give USC credit. They beat us in every way you can get beat, in every phase of the game. I give much credit to the Trojans. They're everything they're cracked up to be. And maybe even a little more."
On tomorrow's game for third place: "We'll regroup and try to get it done tomorrow."
Junior Driver Tyler Hill
On Saturday's Semifinal against USC: "We learned a lot from that game. There are a lot of things we can take out of this game and come back tomorrow."
Senior Left-hander Todd Carlson
On Saturday's Semifinal against USC: "I give full credit to USC. They did well. We came out for the best competition and we got it."
On tomorrow's game for third place: "We will fight again tomorrow. It's a new game with new strategies."
