Malibu, Calif. - Fifth-seeded Loyola Marymount men's tennis shutout eighth-seed Gonzaga 4-0 Saturday at the West Coast Conference Championships hosted by top-seed Pepperdine. The Lions now face sixth-seeded Saint Mary's in a battle for fifth place Sunday at 11:00 a.m.

With the threat of rain facing the championships in Malibu, the teams played the singles competition first. LMU dominated, taking a lead in every singles match and holding on to close out four. With the championship format, as soon as a team clinches the winning point, match play stops, ending the contest at 4-0.

The Lions will now take on sixth-seed Saint Mary's Sunday in a battle for fifth place in the WCC. The match is slated for an 11:00 a.m. start.
