Irvine, Calif. - Loyola Marymount women's tennis swept Southern Utah University and had a strong doubles showing against the host school in day one results at the UC Irvine Fall Invitational. Erin Ivey blanked her Southern Utah opponent in singles, as the Lions took all seven singles match-ups on Friday.

In the invitational, LMU, Southern Utah, UC Irvine, and UC Riverside will all face each other in both singles and doubles over the weekend. On Friday, LMU began with singles against Southern Utah and doubles against host UC Irvine.

The Lions swept the singles side, as Carla Arguelles, Serena Fermin, Tamara Tanner, Patrycia Hubl, Kimi Kaloi, Diana Vinis, and Erin Ivey each won their match-ups. Ivey did not surrender a game to Southern Utah's Casie Brooks, winning 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, Arguelles and Hubl defeated UCI's Bentzer/Agababian 8-5. Kaloi and Ivey also teamed up to drop Boss and Nikki Fermin 8-3. The LMU teams of Tanner/Fermin (8-6) and Erin Sanchez/Vinis 8-4 each fell close matches to UCI.
