Kevin Novak Earns WCC Player Of The Week Honors

Los Angeles, Calif., - Monday, Sept. 22, 2003 - Loyola Marymount University senior men's soccer player Kevin Novak was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week as announced today by the conference office.

The Huntington Beach, Calif., native scored two goals over the weekend, leading LMU to two wins at the Air Force Tournament. Novak scored the game-winning goal against Oral Roberts on Friday and tallied his conference-high seventh goal of the season in the Lions' 4-3 win over Bucknell on Sunday. The midfielder earned all-tournament honors for his efforts. Novak leads the conference with 15 total points and is tied for the conference lead with two game-winning goals. The Lions are in the midst of a five-game unbeaten streak, and have not lost a game since September 4. LMU has scored 16 goals this season, the second highest total in the WCC.

The Lions travel to No.2 UCLA to take on the defending national champion Bruins this Saturday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m.
