Softball Pulls Out 5-4 Win Over UC Riverside

Honolulu, HI- The Loyola Marymount softball team pulled out another come from behind, extra inning win,5-4, against UC Riverside at the Chevron Malihini Tournament in Hawaii. Casie Phillips saved the day again with the game-winning hit.

The Highlanders jumped on the board first with two runs in the top of the second. UCR added another run in the third as Jeannine Robison reached the plate safely.

The Lions battled back to take the lead though, scoring four runs in the bottom of the third. The Highlanders would not go away tying things up in the fifth as Robison scored again on a fielding error.

For the second time in the tournament, LMU took things to extra innings and won. Phillips singled home Jessica Grassi to give the Lions the come from behind win.

Jenell Jackson took the loss for the Highlanders, going the final 4.2 innings, giving up one run on two hits. Krystal Kehr got the win, going the final 5.0 innings, giving up one run on four hits.
