Malibu, Calif. -- Loyola Marymount women's swimming team competed in its first double dual meet of the season at Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool in Malibu on Saturday. The Lions took on Pepperdine and Nevada, as senior Krista Zabor and freshman Lauren Mathewson led the squad for the second straight week.
Zabor took second place in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking a time of 58.92.
Mathewson also claimed a second place finish for the Lions, swimming the 100-yard backstroke in 1:00.37.
Zabor and freshman Morgan Finley had back-to-back finishes in the 100 breast, clocking 1:09.93 and 1:10.19, respectively, to finish third and fourth.
Mathewson and fellow freshman Amanda Luciano also teamed up for third and fourth place in the 100 free, finishing in 56.18 and 56.39.
LMU tallied 70 points against Pepperdine's 191, and 77 points against Nevada's 182. However, both Pepperdine and Nevada participated in the women's diving competition, earning points from those events.
The Lions will host their first dual of the season at the Burns Aquatic Center on Thursday, November 6th. LMU will face Cal State Northridge at noon.
