Loyola Marymount goes on the road to face San Diego again next week. LMU then returns home to host the Western Intercollegiate Softball League Tournament. San Diego, Santa Clara and Saint Mary's will all be competing in the 2001 WISL Tournament.
Last Week -
The Lions went on a roll last week sweeping both Portland State and San Diego and going a perfect 4-0 for the week. The wins over Portland State improved LMU's conference mark to 10-10 for the year. The Lions end the 2001 season third in the Western Athletic Conference.
This Week -

Scouting The Toreros -
San Diego will face the Lions next week with a 17-31 record after dropping a doubleheader to LMU last weekend. Anne Skidmore leads the Toreros with a .291 (39-134) batting average. Jade Quentin is USD's power hitter as she has posted a .423 slugging percentage. Quentin has driven in 14 RBI's, hit seven doubles, five triples and one home run. Pitchers Allison Williams and Anna Russell have tied for the team lead with 23 appearances on the mound. Williams owns a 4-7 record and 2.67 ERA while Russell is 6-9 on the year with a 2.71 ERA. The Lions have won every meeting with the Toreros this year. LMU owns the all-time series advantage of 41-28 over the Toreros.
Cerecedes Named Player Of The Week -
Christy Cerecedes, a junior outfielder from Hacienda Heights, Calif., led LMU to a 4-0 mark this past week with a .727 (8-for-11) batting average. She also added two runs, three RBI's, one sacrifice, walked twice, had two doubles and one triple. In two games against Portland State, Cerecedes went 4-for-5, including three RBI's. She hit two doubles to start off the series against the Vikings. In Game 2 of the series, Cerecedes was 2-for-2, including two RBI's and a sacrifice fly to bring in the tying run. Against San Diego, she went 4-for-6 which included a triple in Game 2 of the series. Cerecedes ranks third in the WAC in batting average (.339) and is tied for the third with two triples.
Rogalsky Rolls On -
Junior righthander Corianne Rogalsky went a perfect 2-0 while also picking up a save in three appearances last week. In 16.0 innings pitched she allowed just 12 hits, struck out 11 batters, issued just two walks and gave up no earned runs. In a win over Portland State she gave up six hits, struck out three and walked two. In a victory at San Diego Rogalsky threw eight innings, allowed six hits and struck out eight. She threw one inning in Game 2 against USD and earned her first save of the year. Her 1.61 ERA ranks seventh in the WAC.
Trauernicht Runs Over Record - OF Anna Trauernicht was not content with owning the all-time stolen bases record at LMU (129). Trauernicht has scored 37 runs this season which puts her career total at 129 making her the new all-time runs leader for the Lions as well. Her speed has also helped her stretch out hits for extra bases. She has hit a team-leading eight doubles on the year. Her career doubles total now stands at 35, moving her into second on the all-time doubles chart.
